Suzanne Dunford

Suzanne Dunford is the leader of the Climate Change Adaptation Team at the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage. She has worked for the NSW Government on climate change since 1998 in a diverse range of role and fields including energy efficiency, renewable energy, and most recently climate change vulnerability and risk assessments, urban green cover and supporting adaptive capacity.
She is currently managing a multidisciplinary team to increase the resilience of NSW to a changing climate, leading programs on regional resilience, ecosystem based adaptation, systems thinking for preparedness and ensuring climate information and knowledge delivery matches end-user needs. She brings extensive expertise in organisational communication, public administration and program management to the role and is currently researching effective governance for transitional adaptation in local communities, with support from the Australian government
