Martin Cope

Dr Martin Cope is a CSIRO research scientist, is based at CSIRO’s Aspendale site and works in the Earth Health group as part of the Oceans and Atmosphere Business Unit. Martin has worked in the area of air quality modelling and applications for over 30 years and in recent years has worked on topics which
include-
• investigating the effect of alternative motor vehicle fuels on air quality and population health;
• national shipping emissions and air quality;
• investigating the relationship between climate variability and air quality and health; • the sources and sinks of fine particles;
• the development and application of short–term air quality forecasting systems for dust, smoke and anthropogenic pollutants;
Martin is the project leader for the DEWLP project “Smoke emissions and transport modelling”.
